why does my hair get frizzy after washing?

A few things line up to cause that after-wash frizz: hard water in a lot of Indian cities causes calcium build-up that roughens the hair surface (Int J Dermatol 2016), rough towel-drying adds more damage on top (AAD), and skipping conditioner leaves hair without the moisture that keeps the surface smooth.

The fix isn’t complicated — the AAD’s advice is basically: condition every wash (run it through the full length, not just roots), detangle wet hair with a wide-tooth comb starting from the ends, and blot-dry with a towel or old t-shirt instead of rubbing.

If you want, I can look at whether your current shampoo or conditioner is suited to frizzy hair, or something else you’re using.

Useful products start with everyday problems.

We focus on the questions, frustrations, and small difficulties people encounter in daily life—and where a digital product could help.

Our first focus is personal care. Through Miyu, we’re exploring how technology can help people navigate conflicting advice and make choices that fit their own needs.

How we build.

Three principles guide the decisions we make as we develop our products.

01

Understand the problem first.

Start with what people are trying to do, where they struggle, and what would help.

02

Make the reasoning clear.

Design for explanations people can follow, with relevant trade-offs and limitations made visible.

03

Improve through real use.

Use feedback and testing to identify what helps, what causes confusion, and what needs to change.
